For over two decades, Conrad has excelled in leadership roles for both large diversified media companies and his own. He got his start at the dawn of Internet journalism by creating and monetizing the early websites and sales products for local TV stations (KTVB-TV, KING-TV, NWCN, KREM-TV) and publishing groups (Belo Interactive, Microsoft/ NBC). At MSNBC.com he led a team that created multimillion-dollar strategic marketing products for the world’s largest brands, agencies, and accounts. Their frequent requests for GEO prompted him to create a way to make local media more accessible for national brands.
In 2006, his unwavering passion and appreciation for local media propelled him to found LION New Media. There he built a company that provided industry leading strategies and media plans for prestigious national/ regional clients intent on connecting their brands to local online audiences and content. LION diverted millions in new revenue to local publishers in every U.S. market until it was acquired in 2017.
Conrad built LIONshare® a self-serve location-based media planning software platform in conjunction with the Reynolds Journalism Institute. Ideal for any client with a local advertising need, LIONshare® instantly assembles customized GEO media plans by analyzing extensive data contained in 10,000 local publisher profiles. These best of breed campaigns have provided indisputable results for marketers and new revenue for local media sites nationwide.
Conrad's debut novel, EDGE OF REDFISH LAKE, was just released by Black Opal Books.
