The Product Development Lead is responsible for coordinating and organizing the development of new products within Kaas Tailored. This role will partner with our Sales, VB, Production, Design, and Planning teams to develop products and production standards, release engineering, and ensure products meet customer requirements. This individual will use exceptional organizational and communication skills to support the development needs of our organization. They will also be responsible for developing and growing our product development team so that they can pursue and fulfill their full potential in line with Kaas Tailored's purpose statement and beliefs.

Essential Functions:
-Oversees review of new product concepts and decision-making process required for new product introduction and roll out.
-Responsible for project coordination, planning, and research required for new projects.
-Oversee the team that evaluates and resolves technical feasibility, design optimization, and production issues.
-Coordinates overall timeline, assigns team responsibilities, and project planning.
-Provides timely status reporting to internal and external customers, including project status, risk, and risk management strategies.
-Ensure timeliness and accuracy of all project milestones and deliverables.
-Uses creative problem solving to quickly respond to project challenges.
-Applies past experiences and learning to implement process improvement into each new product developed. Develops and recommends process improvements to support increased efficiencies and support the company purpose statement and beliefs.
-Manage integration of products into manufacturing lines. Ensures that the project focals provide effective training and deliverables to the Production Team.
-Responsible for providing opportunities for the professional and personal growth of the product development team. This includes, but is not limited to, providing timely feedback, identifying and putting in place plans for areas of technical skill growth, compensation reviews, Kaizen training and mentorship, and discipline (which must be reviewed in partnership with HR and Management).
-Ensures 5s compliance and areas are tour ready at all times.
-Participates in the product development staffing strategy and job description development along with applicable interviews as needed.

Qualified applicants have:
-A minimum of 5 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
-Experience in CAD, CNC, upholstery, and sewing knowledge. knowledge.
-The desire to serve others and lead with humility.
-The desire to make a positive impact within the organization.
-Experience leading a small team.
-Willing and able to work in an open office environment.
-Excellent project management skills

Benefits package includes:
Starting wage for this position is $27.00-$33.00 depending on experience.

Paid Time Off (PTO)
Under 12 months: 1 hour PTO for every 30 worked.
After 1 Year: 70 hours PTO
After 3 Years: 110 hours PTO
After 5 Years: 120 hours + 30 hours paid Holiday during Christmas week

Holidays: New Year’s Day, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas are paid for 10 hours after 3 months of employment.
Medical/Dental/Vision Benefits: Eligible for coverage on the 1st day of the month following completion of 60 days of employment.
Tuition Assistance: Eligible after 6 months of employment.
401(k): Employer match based on profitability of the company.
Technology Reimbursement: Eligible after 1 year of employment.
