Produce, plan and participate in the production of Native plants from seeds, hardwood, softwood cutting and spores. Managing field labor for growing assembly, productivity of workforce, growing quality plant material, and safety.
Required duties and responsibilities include the following.
Daily review and monitoring of the irrigation system.
Schedules work for crews according to weather conditions, shipment etc.
Establish benchmarks and productivity requirements and reports them daily.
Suggests formula and procedure changes to improve quality of plants to ensure product is ready for market per desired timetables.
Orders needed inventory on a regular basis and insure proper storage, use and control of those products.
Conducts a monthly inventory of all production related raw materials inventory products.
Implement a true BMP program.
Ensure policies and procedures are followed.
Coordinate with all locations.
Bachelor's degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university with two years of experience or 7 years of native plant propagation experience.
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate in English. Ability to communicate in Spanish is helpful but not mandatory.
Must be able to use window-based programs, Microsoft Word and Excel.
Pesticide license a plus
